Stand A Little Taller

Today I had it. I have heard so many mean things from people saying stuff to me, or to my family, or to my friends and I was so mad. And I got so mad at everything!! But then I started thinking about something, especially after a talk with my coworker today. Through all the trials that I have been through, my beliefs have been my one constant thing. Even when I get so angry and I want to give up, if someone were to ask me to deny my beliefs, I could not. I've even thought about why things happened or why God lets bad things happen to people and I still could not be the least bit angry at Him.

Even if I feel like the crappiest person ever sometimes, I do know that I am human.
I wanted to share this with you all. I've been all mopey the last few days, but I've played this a few times and it gives me hope. I loved President Hinckley just like a lot of people. The one thing I liked about him is that he made me feel real. When I watch this, I see him with all the same emotions we all go through. He was human too, yet such an example. It made think about my life and the important things. He makes me want to be a better person and even though I screw up a lot, I don't feel like a complete failure. I thank him for giving me hope about myself when others make me feel so low about myself. What a great guy!

The Smith Boys

So Brittany posted this video on facebook. The main guy singing is Nate Smith. He has the most hilarious brothers. You probably have seen Ike in all my Halloween pictures, he is the one with the massive beard. Anyway, I love those boys! (I want to marry one of them..secretly..) Anyway, I thought you all would enjoy the video.

California Here I Come.

So with the way things have been going lately, I am again overdue for a vacation (even though I did take off to Utah last week, but hey, one more road trip won't hurt!). My mom and I are taking off tomorrow to sunny California. I am SO excited. We are heading to the beach or IKEA or any other random spot. Wednesday we are heading off to DISNEY! I've been to that place three times now this year and I can't get enough of it. It will be great.

The best part is our hotel is walking distance from Bubba Gump, which is like the best seafood place in the world. I've been to the one in New Orleans and San Fran and now I am marking down one more for Anaheim. My life's goal is to go to all of them (well, not really but that would be really cool). Hmmm.. maybe I should be a food critic.

But anyway, I am very happy to get away phone free and boy free. I've been a little upset about losing a dear friend of mine and it's been making me crazy. I get SO emotional about things. So here's to a GREAT road trip with GREAT food and GREAT fun!

Spring Break. Busy Busy.

So usually my Spring Break consists of being bored to death or wallowing over a guy (Isn't it strange that every year for the past four years, a guy has broken up with me right before Sring Break?), so I decided to make sure this Spring Break was jam packed. So here it goes. The plan of action.

1. Tonight: Dinner with Michelle. It's her birthday next week so we are all hanging out tonight.

2. Tomorrow: My niece is in the Henderson St. Patty's Day parade, then traffic school (yes, again), and then Roo's birthday party.

3. Church with Michelle. Back in the good old Foothills ward again.

4. Go to court and file my papers and then off to get the hair done! :) Finally, by Liesl!

5. Tuesday through Thursday I am gone to California with my mom. Good stuff!

6. Thursday night at Stoney's with Kaycee.

7. Camping with some friends at the Valley of Fire on Friday and Saturday.

8. And Easter Sunday with the mom.

Good times! :)

Things I Am Addicted To

I saw this on a blog and I thought it was a cute idea. Here is my list of addictions:

1. The Crystal Light To Go Packets--Fruit Punch. You know its bad when while you are teaching you pull ot a packet and make a drink right in front of the kids and start drinking it. I know, I'm not too professional, but hey, it's science.
2. Buffalo Wild Wings--especially the Asian Zing wings (boneless or original). A friend of mine let me try one and I was a goner. For the last month I have gone at least twice a week.
3. Disney. Ask me how many times I have gone so far? 2 and I am going again next Wednesday. Good stuff.
4. Love. I love the feeling of being in love. It's like a natural high.
5. Science. It explains everything, plus its fun to teach because you get to play all the time.
6. Orbit Gum. I chew it a lot. And especially considering I am on a low carb diet.
7. Body Pump. I love this class. Just a simple weight training class that makes you feel really good. Unfortunatly I am really sick or I would be there right now.
8. Music. I like to listen to it when I am happy, sad, disappointed, angry, thoughtful, etc. It makes me feel so much better.

Back From Utah

So I made an unexpected trip this weekend to Provo to see my good old friend Liesl. It was really nice. I was able to see my good friend who I miss a ton and shop like mad and get some cute, modest stuff.

So back in 2005 my friends used to make fun of me because I would blog everything. Liesl and I were looking at the old blog..and I am really glad I did it. I have never laughed so hard in my life. Good times!

I must say, being in Utah is a completely different experience from Vegas. I feel like I am in a foreign country. People look exactly the same! It's so weird and they all dress the same too! I felt like a weirdo cause I admit to staring at people in the mall just because I was fascinated. Don't get me wrong..it's not everyone...

So I am back in the city of sin and feel the weight of responsibility back on my shoulders. Sigh. Back to reality. Wish me luck.

Hi-Ya!

So I went to the strangest FHE yesterday. Every first monday, we usually have FHE at our bishop's house and he does a little schpeel on something spiritual and so on. So this time he invited a friend of his to do an "inspirational" speech to us. This guy does motivational speaking to youth and has a PHD in all that stuff.

So get this...he had us put a fear on a board and on the back of it we had to write what would happen if we conquered that fear...and then....we had to break the board in half with our fist. Yes, you read that right. So about ten people go ahead of me. They all hit it the first time and the wood snaps like a twig. Then it was my turn. Four tries later and a bruised hand...I got it.

And man my hand hurts today. (Pics soon..)
