A Close of One Chapter. A Beginning of Another.
Last night Michelle invited me to a farewell party for an old bishop of mine. I was really hesitant about going because when I left there was a lot of craziness going on. My boyfriend and I had split up, I had a huge fallout with a girlfriend, and life just felt like a complete mess. The funny thing is as I was driving down there I totally felt ok about it. One, it was almost two years a go and so much as happened since then, and two, I was excited to close a chapter in my life. This move from Mannion is also a part of it, considering this ward was a HUGE reason why I moved to that school and I'm ready. I am ready to make the change and roll with the punches.
In short, it was the best get together I had been to in a LONG time. I loved it! I saw a lot of old friends that cared about me and I saw my new friends too. It was so great!
I was telling Michelle on the way home that its gatherings like that when you totally feel the Spirit. I was able to see my ex and be so excited for him and his wife and have no malice at all. I loved seeing everyone and I picture the same thing when all of us pass away and are meeting each other on the other side. I am so sappy and sentimental, but it's exactly how I feel.

A Proud Teacher.
I feel like an annoying parent that talks about her kids all the time, but I have to, because as of six more days I have NO bragging rights considering I will be out for the summer and sending my students along their way into the world.
So this weekend was my birthday and my kids planned a little mini party for me (so cute). It's not really all my kids, just this little gang that hangs out at lunch and after school. We've had some good times. Today was cute cause we had cake that Alexis and Alex made and played an intense game of Catch Phrase. It was nice to just stop for a moment from grading papers and have some fun. (This was all after school of course. I'm not that much of a slacker!).
Anyway, here are some pictures of my kids. I am such a proud teacher.

Albertsons. It's Your Store.
So I have concluded that Albertson's and I have a strange relationship. Every time I go there, something strange happens. Brittany and I decided to boycott the Albertson's on Town Center and Charleston because of the "pasta" incident (see my post titled "A Funny Story"). A week after that incident I went to the same Albertson's and was asked for my phone number by a cashier, a female cashier. I am sure it was just a friendly chat but for some reason it went above and beyond my normal space.
Tonight another incident occurred and yes, it was at Albertson's of all places. I walked into the store to pick up some stuff for my lab at school tomorrow. I always fight whether or not to get a cart because if I don't get one, then I don't spend as much money and go in and get what I need and get out of there. So I partly walked in, changed my mind, and then walked back out to get a cart because I was getting heavy stuff.
Anyway, I remember seeing a guy glance at me on the way in and usually when a guy tries to make eye contact with me I just glance sideways and try to pretend like I am doing something, which I did this time. So I grab my cart and check out, never seeing tha guy again.
As I was driving home I see a slip of paper on the windshield wiper on my car. I cringed because in the last year I have had to deal with my insurance company twice for car accidents and I was cursing the person that had bumped my car and left a note. The note was fluttering in the wind and I did notice there was writing, so I immediately pulled off. When I opened the note, this is what it said:
"Hi I know this is weird but I would give it a try. I'm Chad. I saw you go in Albertson's. I was behind you. Anyways, text me some time. -Chad"
He also put his stats "27, military" on there. I think it was the guy on the way in, but the weird thing is that if I had not turned around, I would of never known who he was.
I kinda think its funny but a little creepy considering it was 8 at night and dark out by the time I walked out. My mom flipped out and mentioned I could of been raped, but honestly, I thought it was just all out strange. I'm sure this has happened to many of you, but I find it very random and gutsy for a complete stranger to assume I am not married and totally stalk a complete stranger in a store.
Good times.

The Little Joys In Life.
I think my friends think I am a complete dork. Here is why. Yesterday I noticed online that the new Las Vegas Athletic Club opened off the 215 and Flamingo. Seriously, I have been watching that place for months for it to open. When I found out, I texted everyone!
So anyway, today I decided I had to go to the body pump class to try it out. As soon as I pull off the exit, I start getting excited because its in the best parking lot ever and its already busy. I texted Jen, Brittany, Miles, and called my mom just to tell her how excited I was. When I walked in I felt like a little kid at Disneyland. Everything was so new and nice! They even have plush seats in the dressing room!!
So yes, I went to the first body pump class ever on Tuesday nights and was admiring the shiny floors and weights. I was so happy.
Oh the little joys in life. I am a nerd.

You're So Last Summer.
So I got an email from a friend who likes to make music videos. It was totally random because the last time I saw him was about a month ago at some barbecue. Anyway, he asked me if I wanted to be in a music video and the ham in me was like "Of course!". So he told me to dress like a high schooler and meet him at an address on Saturday. It's so weird though because there were way too many weird circumstances surrounding the video shoot. I am so superstitious! Haha.
One of the weird things was that the video was of Taking Back Sunday's song "You're So Last Summer". If you know me I am not a huge music guru, but about three years ago I met my friend Josh over the internet and we instantly became really good friends (nothing more..he gets married this fall!). One thing was that he was teaching me new music I should like and the first thing he suggested was getting a Taking Back Sunday cd. "You're So Last Summer" was the ONLY song I would listen to and have listened to. Another thing was that it was filmed right across the steeet from the school I teach at. There are many other random things and I'll spare you the details, but I swear it weirded me out. I am a loon! Yes I know!
Anyway, here is the song. I'll post the video as soon as he is done editing it. I also took pictures while we were waiting between shots and I'll post them later too. The story in our video is about a pasycho girl that stalks a boy in our class. Seriously, the people who were there were hilarious.

I Am A Stage Aunt
Last weekend my five year old niece was in a dance competition with her dance troupe. I've been to one performance at the Galleria Mall and really enjoyed it so when my sister told me about this, I totally wanted to go. So both days I drove down to Cashman Center to watch Sarah perform. I was loving it! Not only did I enjoy watching Sarah, but there are a ton of dang talented kids out there. (I believe this is why I am addicted to So You Think You Can Dance..I love to watch dancing!) So anyway, here are some pictures from last weekend. I had a great time cheering for her!

G.N.O.
So it has been a while since I had a girls night (ok I take that back, Michelle, Brittany, and I had one the other week). But, I mean a girls night where you go to some crazy restaurant and have some fun. Andrea rallied up the girls and we all headed down to Margaritaville. I had never been there. Of course, I loved it because of the beach theme, plus the fact that my dad has made me listen to every Jimmy Buffet song out there! Here are some pics:

From The Mouths of Babes.
I told my sister that I am going to start blogging about being a teacher because I don't have any kids and my single life is a drag right now. Basically I will do this to help me remember how to raise my kids when I actually do settle down to have kids.
It's teacher appreciation week and so my kids were told in their math class to make a card for one of their teachers, so in my mailbox today I got a stack of them. So cute.
Here are some quotes:
"All of my teachers are wonderful, but I choose you because our class has been giving you a hard time this week. I am sorry for that. You're a great teacher."
"You were so nice this year. You didn't really give that much homework. You let us toilet paper Mr. Fogler's classroom. Thank you Ms. Bray."
"Out of all my teachers, you are my favorite. Thank you for being my science teacher."
"Dear Ms. Bray. I picked you out of all of my teachers. That means you are my fav! OH YEAH! I apologize for being late to class, but believe me, I try my hardest to get there on time. Sorry its sucky. I would write more but we only had 15 minutes."
(She was on time today.)
"You are the coolest teacher that I know of."
"I really appreciate what you have done for us through the whole year. Science is my favorite class."
"Thank you for everything. You are my #1 favorite teacher." (He also drew a random chicken in Paris on my card.)
"Thank you for helping me out with my work."
"You are a very bright, colorful, and kind teacher. I am glad I had you as a teacher."
"Science is probably one of the best subjects ever. Everything we do in your class is fun! No matter what we do it is never boring. The crazy conversations we have are hilarious."
"You rock! For the best teacher ever. I present you with this award." (She made a pin out of notebook paper with a #1 on it.) "P.S. Please don't move."
"Thank you for all the good times in class. Especially all the labs that we have. My favorite lab was when we did the cookie dough lab. Thank you for everything."
"You have taught me a lot!"
"Yay for Bray! I guess this week we are supposed to like, appreciate teachers. You're a teacher, so I guess you would like some appreciation. At least I picked you over Mr. Fogler. Well, anyway, you're a radtastic teacher! Yay for Bray! I suppose I'll tone down my hyperness in your class. Maaayyyybeee."
